Before you go
- A Dew Collector made at a Workbench.
- A Water Filter to install in the collector’s dedicated tool slot.
- Empty Water Jars for collection.
Farming steps
- Craft and place the Dew Collector where you can reach its inventory.
- Leave the required clear space overhead for the collector.
- Open the inventory and install the Water Filter in its dedicated tool slot.
- Load Empty Water Jars into the collector.
- Let it operate, then inspect its inventory to confirm the collected output is clean Water.
- Collect the filled jars and store the water for drinking or other survival needs.
- Return empty jars to the collector to keep the station operating.
- Keep a drinking reserve on hand while the collector accumulates output.
- Check the filter slot whenever output differs from what you expect.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat by collecting filled jars and returning empty ones. The collector is an ongoing source while it has a working filter and jars; it does not produce a fixed one-time cache.
Common mistakes
- Assuming the filter is installed because it is in inventory: verify it is in the collector’s tool slot.
- Leaving without restocking jars: the collector needs empty jars for continued collection.
- Counting on immediate output after placement: allow collection to accumulate before relying on it.
