- A clear route away from the riverbank.
Farming steps
- Travel to a riverbank where you can approach and retreat without getting boxed in by terrain.
- Scan the dam and nearby animals; choose an approach that leaves a safe path out.
- Open the dam inventory and check its actual contents, since the mix can vary.
- Take the Cementing Paste and any wood or other useful items you have room to carry.
- Remove all remaining items from the dam so it is fully emptied.
- Leave promptly once nearby animals become a threat; do not linger to fight after securing the haul.
- At base, unload the materials and use Cementing Paste in building or crafting recipes that require it; use the wood for construction or fuel.
- Before looting, face your planned retreat and note where nearby animals are moving.
- Keep enough inventory space for the materials you want; a full load can force you to leave useful contents behind.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat by checking riverbanks for dams, emptying each one completely, and returning on later passes. Replacement is not immediate or guaranteed, and each dam's contents can differ.
