Farming steps
- Choose a cave with mapped crystal and identify its entrance before departure.
- Prepare weapons, armor, light, and supplies for the cave environment and likely encounters.
- Approach the entrance and confirm that your health and equipment are ready before going inside.
- Move through the cave carefully, checking the route and threats rather than rushing toward the resource marker.
- Harvest accessible crystal nodes with a pickaxe when the area is manageable.
- Check supplies, health, and carry weight before deciding whether to continue farther.
- Leave by the route you know and return to the surface before your reserves become critical.
- Resource nodes and cave entrances are separate map-planning questions; knowing where crystal is does not establish the safest way in.
- Set a conservative turn-back point before entering, especially on a first visit.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the cave-to-crystal-to-surface loop when you need more material and can prepare for another expedition. This is not a guaranteed reward cache; the amount collected depends on accessible nodes.
Common mistakes
- Treating the cave marker as a safety signal: prepare for cave threats and identify the entrance independently.
- Continuing after supplies or health are low: turn back while you still have a safe exit.
- Carrying more than you can safely take through the return route: leave when the load compromises movement.
When to stop or switch
Turn back when your health, light, supplies, or carry capacity makes reaching the surface uncertain; otherwise finish after the planned crystal load.
