WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Convert Soil to Useful Materials

A powered base production area with a Soil Centrifuge and a safe nearby route for collecting soil.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Take the Terrain Tool along a safe surface route and collect soil into canisters.
  2. Return to the base and place the canisters where they can be loaded into the Soil Centrifuge.
  3. Open the centrifuge output choices and select one listed material: Compound, Resin, Clay, Quartz, Ammonium, or Graphite.
  4. Run the centrifuge with the collected soil and power available.
  5. Unload the produced resource into storage or move it directly to the printer or production station that needs it.
  6. Repeat the conversion only when the chosen material is needed again.
  7. Collect more soil when the canisters are empty and another processing batch is useful.

Repeat, collect and use

This soil-to-material conversion is repeatable as long as you collect more soil and have power. It is not a direct deposit farm, and each batch consumes its input soil.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting the centrifuge to output every listed material at once: select the one needed for the batch.
  • Forgetting the input: collect soil in canisters before starting conversion.
  • Processing without a storage plan: leave space to unload the selected material before the machine finishes.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have enough of the selected material for the next build or storage target. Switch to mining a field deposit if a specific resource is not among the centrifuge’s listed outputs.
