Fishing Biome Catches
Fishing water in the biome or water type associated with the target fish; biomes have distinct catch tables.
Before you go
- Fishing Rod.
- Access to the biome and water type for the desired catch.
- Inventory space and a Cooking Pot if preparing food.
Farming steps
- Decide whether you need a specific ingredient or simply a stock of fish for meals.
- Use your map and discovered terrain to reach water in the relevant biome; do not assume its direction from another world.
- Equip the Fishing Rod and cast into suitable water.
- Wait for the in-game bite cue and complete the rod interaction to collect the fish.
- Sort catches at base, setting aside any fish needed for a named recipe or NPC request.
- Combine useful catches with crops or other ingredients in a Cooking Pot for meals.
- Return to the same water for more catches while that target remains useful.
- Different biomes have distinct fish, so change water areas when a target is not appearing.
- Save rare or quest-relevant fish until you confirm their intended use.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable fishing at available water; individual catch results vary and should not be treated as a guaranteed specific fish.
Common mistakes
- Using pre-1.0 minigame timing instructions: follow the current game interaction and bite cue.
- Fishing any convenient water for a biome-specific target: travel to the target’s biome or water type.
- Cooking all catches without sorting: reserve fish needed for recipes or requests first.
When to stop or switch
Stop once you have enough of the required fish or meal ingredients; move to another biome if the target depends on a different catch table.
