Work a small, familiar loop through kitchens, shops, and nearby sheds. Take edible supplies that support the next leg and leave once the pack is sufficient. Food spawns are variable, so the loop should remain useful even when a building is empty.
Repeat in another settlement when supplies run low. Individual buildings do not guarantee food, so vary the route based on what you find.
Stop once you have enough food for the next trip or the area becomes active; switch to fishing, hunting, or a secure garden if town risk outweighs the supplies.
