Permanent shrine bonuses
Permanent run shrines such as Alms, War Totem or Altar of Devotion, found through encounter markers in Acts 1–3.
Before you go
- Start a run in a released Act.
- Check the minimap for yellow encounter markers.
- Know whether your build needs more damage, durability or another displayed benefit.
Farming steps
- Move through the run while checking the minimap for yellow dots.
- When a shrine marker appears, approach only if the detour is safe.
- Read the shrine’s displayed effect before interacting.
- Choose the available bonus that most directly helps the current build.
- Continue the run and treat the effect as active for that run rather than as an account unlock.
- At run end, assess whether the chosen effect helped and adjust future shrine choices accordingly.
- A run bonus can persist through the rest of that run while still disappearing when the run ends.
- Different shrine choices answer different build needs; read the actual interaction text rather than relying on a fixed selection.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat whenever a shrine encounter appears in a run. The benefit is run-limited and must be selected again in later runs; it is not a permanent collection.
Common mistakes
- Expecting a shrine’s effect to persist between runs; it is a temporary run bonus.
- Choosing without reading the displayed effect; match the option to the current build.
- Detouring into danger for an optional shrine; skip it if the route risks a more valuable checkpoint.
When to stop or switch
Stop seeking shrine encounters once the run is unstable or the remaining route is focused on a boss checkpoint.
