Outer Circle Necromancer Essence
Act 1: Outer Circle, at the 14:00 boss checkpoint.
Before you go
- Have Outer Circle unlocked.
- Choose the character whose Essence and Talents you want to develop.
- Bring a build that can handle both the boss and its summoned enemies.
Farming steps
- Start an Outer Circle run and develop a build with dependable damage and a way to manage groups.
- Before 14:00, move toward open ground and keep a retreat path available.
- When the Necromancer appears, keep moving to avoid its ranged fireballs.
- If skeletons or Reapers block your route, clear enough of them to move safely, then return damage to the boss.
- Defeat the Necromancer and collect the Essence that appears.
- After the run, spend the character-bound Essence on that character’s Talents.
- The boss fight pauses normal timed enemy flow until the boss is defeated, so use the lull to focus on survival and damage.
- You can stop after this checkpoint if the Necromancer is your target; continuing to Dracula is optional.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Outer Circle runs and defeat the 14:00 Necromancer. Essence is tied to the character who earns it, so run as the character whose Talents you plan to buy.
Common mistakes
- Switching characters after a run and expecting the Essence to transfer; spend it on the character that earned it.
- Chasing summons while the Necromancer is free to attack; clear only what threatens your movement, then resume boss damage.
- Waiting until the boss appears to find open ground; reposition before 14:00.
When to stop or switch
Stop once the current character has enough Essence for the Talents you want, or switch to a higher Act if you can reliably finish its earlier boss checkpoints.
