Mastery challenges for weapons, class mods and biomes
Before you go
- Unlock an available weapon, class mod, or biome Mastery.
- Read the selected challenge and its minimum Hazard requirement.
- Choose a mission where the challenge can be pursued alongside the main objective.
Farming steps
- Open the Mastery list and select one specific unfinished challenge.
- Read all displayed conditions, including the required item or biome and Hazard floor.
- Select a dive that meets those conditions before starting.
- Build around the required weapon or class mod while keeping enough strength to complete the mission.
- Track the challenge requirement during the run instead of assuming ordinary progress counts.
- Finish the dive after satisfying the challenge conditions.
- Return to the Mastery screen, confirm completion, and claim the permanent reward.
- The highest Hazard is not required for Mastery power bonuses after the 1.0 change; use the listed minimum.
- Pursue one challenge at a time when conditions compete for weapon or build choices.
Repeat, collect and use
Masteries are individually limited challenges: once a particular reward is claimed, that same challenge is complete. Repeat the loop for other available Masteries.
Common mistakes
- Starting the wrong Hazard: check the challenge floor before launching.
- Assuming the challenge is complete mid-run: verify the result after finishing the dive.
- Raising difficulty without need: use the listed requirement and preserve your chance to complete the objective.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the reward is claimed, or switch to another Mastery if the current conditions no longer fit an accessible mission.
