Look for visible Nitra deposits as you follow the mission route.
Mine veins that are accessible without jeopardizing the stage objective.
If the Nitra Scanner is equipped, use it to identify Nitra in plain rock and mine it when practical.
At a weapon improvement choice, spend Nitra if the upgrade supports your build.
At a Supply Pod, review artifact options and reroll only when the alternatives justify the cost.
On the final stage, continue to consider Nitra for rerolls and qualifying artifacts.
Finish the dive and assess whether your spending helped the build.

A scanner is an option for finding Nitra in plain rock, not a reason to mine every wall.
Keep some Nitra only when you expect a later choice where it can be used; it has no value as an unspent plan by itself.

Collect Nitra anew in each dive. Deposits are limited within a run, while spending opportunities recur when the relevant choices appear.

Assuming all plain rock contains Nitra: use the scanner to identify deposits before mining.
Rerolling automatically: compare the current choice with your build before paying.
Ignoring final-stage uses: Nitra can still matter for rerolls and qualifying artifacts late in a dive.

Stop mining when additional deposits require an unsafe detour or the run is ending; spend remaining Nitra only on a useful available option.
