Summoner and Key of Hate
Arcane Sanctuary in Act II, at the endpoint of one of its four paths.
Before you go
- Reach Hell difficulty.
- Unlock the Arcane Sanctuary waypoint.
- Have damage and defenses for the Summoner and the enemies on the chosen route.
Farming steps
- Use the Arcane Sanctuary waypoint and inspect the four branches from the central platform.
- Follow each branch far enough to identify its endpoint and the Summoner’s location.
- Clear or bypass monsters that threaten the approach, then defeat the Summoner.
- Pick up a Key of Hate if it drops and record your key count.
- Return to town and store keys together with your Terror and Destruction keys.
- Save and exit to reset, then repeat if you still need keys.
- The waypoint’s quest journal or map information can help locate the Summoner’s branch.
- Run this alongside Countess and Nihlathak when assembling a set so you can track all three key types.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat until you have the number of Keys of Hate needed; the key is a random drop, not a guaranteed result each run.
Common mistakes
- Checking only one branch and leaving without finding the Summoner; inspect all four endpoints.
- Expecting Magic Find to improve key chances; focus on safe navigation and a quick kill.
- Transmuting an incomplete key set; keep one of each type together before opening a portal.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the required number of Hate keys or switch to whichever of the other key bosses is short in your collection.
