Before you go
- Torment I access for Lair Boss Hoards.
- A matching Initiate Lair Key for the boss you choose.
- A Greater Lair Key to claim a Greater boss Hoard.
Farming steps
- Choose an Initiate boss and check its key requirement and reward preview.
- Travel to its lair and defeat the boss.
- Use the matching key on the Initiate Hoard after the fight.
- Collect any Greater Lair Key or other progression reward provided.
- When you have a Greater key, inspect Greater boss options and choose a useful target.
- Defeat that boss and use the Greater key to claim its Hoard.
- Initiate bosses can also drop Stygian Stones, which may be convertible through current crafting options.
- Save Greater keys for a boss with a reward pool that fits your build.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Initiate encounters while Greater keys are useful and you have matching entry keys. Keys and Stygian Stones are not guaranteed every attempt.
Common mistakes
- Traveling without the matching Initiate key: check the requirement before leaving town.
- Expecting every Hoard to yield a Greater key: treat it as a chance-based progression reward.
- Spending a Greater key without checking the pool: choose the next-tier target first.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have enough Greater keys for planned Hoards or reach your desired reward; shift to another activity if Initiate keys are the bottleneck.
