Planetary Logistics

Planetary logistics moves materials between separate points on one planet using drones. It replaces long belt connections with station-based supply and demand.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Two Planetary Logistics Stations on the same planet, placed near the source and destination production lines.

Set up a powered station at a source and another at a consumer, select the same item with complementary settings, and connect each station to its local machines by belt. Drones carry the item between stations on that planet; interplanetary routes need a different logistics setup.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Two Planetary Logistics Stations
  • Power at both stations
  • Logistics Drones
  • Belts and filtered station outputs
  1. Place a station beside the source line and connect its input belt.
  2. Set the item slot to the material you intend to move and choose the supply role.
  3. Add drones to the source station.
  4. Place a second station near the consuming factory and set the same item to demand.
  5. Add drones there as needed and connect a filtered output belt to the consumer.
  6. Check that both stations have power and that neither is set to store the item locally instead of transfer it.
  7. Watch inventories and production to confirm the route is delivering.

Farming tips

  • Planetary stations can hold multiple item types, but each needs a correctly configured slot and belt filter.
  • A station's initial charging can strain a small power network; check the grid if transfers do not start.

Repeat, collect and use

Drones repeat the transfer while supply, demand, power, and drone availability support it. The loop ends or slows when the source runs dry or the destination no longer needs stock.

Common mistakes

  • Configuring both stations as suppliers or both as demanders; use opposite roles for the same item.
  • Expecting planetary drones to move cargo to another planet; use interstellar logistics for that.
  • Forgetting the output belt filter at the consumer station; select the item at the belt exit.

When to stop or switch

Stop adding drones or stations when the consumer receives enough material for its production rate. Expand the route only when deliveries are the limiting factor.
