Farming steps
- Inspect the planet's resource listings and travel to the world containing the target vein.
- Place a Mining Machine over the vein and connect power and an output belt.
- Place a Planetary Logistics Station and belt the mined item into it.
- Set the source station's item to supply and load it with logistics drones.
- At the receiving factory on the same planet, place another station and set the same item to demand.
- Load drones there as needed and connect the station's filtered output belt to production.
- Check station power and inventories while the drones establish the transfer.
- Stations need power; a newly placed station can put a meaningful load on a small grid while charging.
- Keep each station's item settings and output belt filter aligned with the ore you are moving.
Repeat, collect and use
The drone transfer repeats as the mine supplies ore and the receiving factory consumes it. Mining is limited by the veins at the outpost.
Common mistakes
- Setting a station to demand at both ends or supply at both ends; configure opposite roles for the same item.
- Expecting a belt to cross between planets; use drones and logistics stations for the transfer.
- Leaving the receiving station without a filtered belt connection; set its output filter and connect the consumer.
When to stop or switch
Stop building out the route when the factory has enough ore for its current production. Add mining capacity or another deposit if the source patch depletes or demand grows.
