WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Copper Ore

Copper vein deposits on the starting planet, near enough to connect to your factory or a local logistics station.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Locate a copper patch and position a Mining Machine so its coverage area includes several veins.
  2. Rotate the machine if needed to improve coverage without obstructing its belt connection.
  3. Connect power and run a dedicated belt from the miner's output.
  4. Feed the ore to smelters and send the resulting ingots to a copper-only belt.
  5. Branch the ingot line to wire, coil, or other active copper consumers.
  6. Add storage or another mine when consumption regularly exceeds the smelter line's output.

Repeat, collect and use

The mining-to-smelting loop continues until the vein patch runs out. Replace depleted capacity with another copper patch and reconnect its output.

Common mistakes

  • Combining copper and iron on the same unfiltered belt; keep separate lines from mine through smelting.
  • Feeding more ore into a full smelter output; clear or expand the downstream ingot route.
  • Treating a distant deposit as available before arranging transport; establish a local belt route or logistics connection.

When to stop or switch

Stop expanding when copper ingots reach their consumers without persistent shortages. Open another patch when the deposit is depleted or demand outgrows the existing line.
