WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Triage biological signals before landing

FSS body results and DSS maps for landable Odyssey planets with biological signals.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Scan the system on arrival with the Discovery Scanner.
  2. Use the FSS to identify bodies and note those with biological signals.
  3. Open the system map and discard bodies that are not landable or do not fit the current trip.
  4. DSS-map the remaining candidates and inspect the number and placement of biological regions.
  5. Choose a body whose regions are practical for your surface visit and set the location as a target.
  6. Land near a mapped region and sample one species to completion before moving to another.
  7. Record completed targets and continue only while the expected survey effort fits the trip; sell at Vista Genomics later.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat for each system and candidate body. Triage is a reusable selection loop; biological sets themselves are limited to uncompleted species and locations. Bank collected records at Vista Genomics.

Common mistakes

  • Landing based only on a signal count; map the body first to locate regions.
  • Assuming every signal is a high-value organism; use actual sampled species and sale results.
  • Starting multiple incomplete species sets; complete one set at a time.

When to stop or switch

Stop scanning candidates when no remaining body advances the survey goal, or switch to another system rather than forcing an unsuitable landing.
