Before you go
- Combat equipment appropriate for the encountered region.
- Enough Shroud survival capacity to reach the root and return.
- Inventory space for the reward and a clear extraction plan.
Farming steps
- While exploring, identify a Shroud Root in an area you can safely access.
- Before engaging, note the nearest safe route out and check your exposure margin.
- Defeat nearby enemies that could interrupt the root encounter.
- Attack and destroy the Shroud Root, staying alert to remaining threats.
- Collect the encounter reward and confirm whether a Shroud Core was obtained.
- Leave the Shroud area promptly and use collected cores for Flame Altar progression.
- Do not spend the whole exposure window searching for extra loot after the root is cleared.
- Choose roots in regions that match your current combat readiness.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat at other roots as you explore. Treat each encounter as a limited location reward, not an infinitely farmable single root.
Common mistakes
- Ignoring the route back: set an exit plan before combat begins.
- Assuming every root yields a core: collect the actual reward and plan progression around what you receive.
- Looting too long after the fight: leave while you still have a safe Shroud margin.
When to stop or switch
