Crucible to Smelter Progression
The Blacksmith's workshop and Forge at your base; the Blacksmith is found through the Ancient Vault - Blacksmith progression.
Before you go
- Rescue the Blacksmith and bring him to a base.
- Advance his quest chain to obtain the Crucible.
- Fired Bricks and the other materials currently shown for the Smelter recipe.
Farming steps
- Locate and rescue the Blacksmith at the Ancient Vault associated with his progression.
- Place the Blacksmith and Forge at your base, then follow his available quests.
- Complete the progression needed to obtain the Crucible item.
- Gather clay and produce Fired Bricks if your Smelter recipe still requires them.
- Open the crafting panel and compare your Crucible and brick stocks with the recipe.
- Craft and place the Smelter once all required components are available.
- Begin brick production before you are ready to build if your clay supply is low.
- Keep the Crucible reserved for the Smelter until the workshop is complete.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a one-time progression build per intended workshop setup; Fired Brick production can be repeated if more bricks are needed later.
Common mistakes
- Assuming the Crucible alone completes the Smelter: confirm the Fired Brick requirement too.
- Trying to scale metal processing before the Blacksmith chain provides the Crucible: continue his quest progression.
- Spending bricks on unrelated construction: reserve the amount shown for the Smelter first.
When to stop or switch
Stop this progression route once the Smelter is crafted and placed; then use its available recipes for the metals you are pursuing.
