Before you go
- Unlock the relevant catalyst exchange or have a selection chest.
- Identify the rare catalyst and amount required for a planned hero upgrade.
- Check the catalyst's source entry for an AP Exchange stage.
- Have AP or the selection item ready to spend.
Farming steps
- Open the hero's awakening or skill screen and record the exact rare catalyst requirement.
- Check the catalyst source list to see whether Unrecorded History AP Exchange offers it.
- If using an AP route, visit the listed stage and confirm the catalyst appears in its exchange.
- Clear that stage to earn AP, then purchase the catalyst from the exchange.
- If using a selection chest instead, select only the catalyst that matches the recorded need.
- Recheck inventory and the hero upgrade screen before spending the catalysts.
- Repeat the AP route for remaining quantities, or save additional chest choices for another planned upgrade.
- Some catalysts have multiple episode exchanges; choose a stage you can clear comfortably and verify its exchange first.
- Selection chests are flexible but finite: spend them on catalysts that are difficult to obtain through your current AP route.
Repeat, collect and use
AP farming and exchange purchases can be repeated as long as the stage and exchange remain available. A selection chest is a limited one-time choice per chest.
Common mistakes
- Picking a catalyst based on rarity alone: match the item to a specific hero requirement.
- Spending a chest before checking the source list: use the AP route when it is more convenient.
- Buying excess stock for an unbuilt hero: finish the current upgrade goal before shifting resources.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the chosen upgrade has enough catalysts; switch to Hunt, runes, or the next planned hero's exact catalyst.
