- Unlock the relevant episode and AP Exchange, or hold an epic catalyst selection chest.
- Identify the exact epic catalyst and quantity needed for an intended hero upgrade.
- Check the catalyst's current listed source before choosing a stage.
- Have Energy and AP available for repeat clears and exchange purchases.
Farming steps
- Open the hero upgrade screen and note the epic catalyst name and required quantity.
- Look up the catalyst's listed sources and identify whether Unrecorded History offers it.
- If it does, open a listed UH stage and confirm the exchange stock before spending Energy.
- If the item is tied to a later episode exchange, verify that episode and stage are accessible to your account.
- Clear the selected stage to earn AP, then purchase the catalyst through its exchange.
- For a selection chest, choose the exact item only after comparing it with the AP route and other current needs.
- Apply the catalyst to the intended upgrade and repeat the stage route if more are needed.
- Epic catalyst sources vary; verify the particular item rather than relying on a general episode rule.
- A chest saves farming time but is limited, so reserve it for a real upgrade bottleneck.
Repeat, collect and use
AP stage clears and exchange purchases can be repeated while the exchange remains available. A selection chest provides a limited one-time selection.
Common mistakes
- Assuming every epic catalyst is available in UH: check its individual source entry.
- Farming an inaccessible or wrong episode: confirm the stage is open to your account before spending resources.
- Using a selection chest for a catalyst already easily covered by AP: compare routes before choosing.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the planned hero has enough catalysts; return to Hunt or choose the next explicit upgrade material need.
