Before you go
- Drills and fuel or power.
- A return route by belt or train.
- Turrets, ammunition, walls, or other suitable defenses.
Farming steps
- Choose a patch and plan drill, power, and transport placement.
- Clear nearby nests only when needed for safe construction or operation.
- Build the drill field and connect output to a belt or loading station.
- Place defenses around exposed miners, power, and vulnerable transport.
- Supply turrets with ammunition and check that the outpost runs unattended.
- Inspect after attacks and repair damaged equipment or replenish ammunition.
- Extend protection or adjust the route if attacks interrupt production.
- Protect power equipment as well as miners; loss of power stops extraction.
- Leave access for repair and ammunition resupply when arranging walls and turrets.
Repeat, collect and use
A defended patch supplies resources until depleted; defense repairs and ammunition replenishment are recurring maintenance.

- Relying on miners before adding protection; defend the outpost before depending on its output.
- Placing turrets without ammunition supply; arrange restocking.
