Updrafts above the dust layer, among yellow synthetic debris clusters.
Before you go
- Airship access to an updraft area.
- Deck Extractor.
- Cargo space for salvage.
Farming steps
- Climb above the dust and look through the updraft for yellow debris clusters.
- Bring the airship alongside a visible cluster, keeping it within extractor range.
- Use the Deck Extractor to harvest the cluster.
- Scan the surrounding current for other yellow clusters while the ship is in position.
- Collect any yellow synthetic cases near points of interest with the extractor as an alternate target.
- Store the synthetics, then use them directly or refine them for a recipe that calls for polymers or fuel.
- Synthetic cases may be easier to gather during a landing-site visit when no cluster is nearby.
- Leave room in storage if you plan to turn the haul into a refined material later.
Repeat, collect and use
Search additional updrafts as you travel. Do not count on the same harvested cluster returning; the evidence supports the target, not a respawn cycle.
Common mistakes
- Confusing rusty metal clusters with yellow synthetics: check the debris color before harvesting.
- Trying to collect a cluster by hand: use the Deck Extractor.
- Assuming every synthetic case contains the same amount: no fixed quantity is documented.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your storage has enough synthetics for the intended build or processing batch, then continue your route and resume searching when supplies run low.
