WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Hexagonal ore-vein markers on the map or scanner. Drill points are located at specific underground elevations.
A vein is a mapped underground resource with drill points at particular elevations. Find the marker, reach a drill point, clear its face, and align a vein miner to it. Plan the route for power and ore transport before opening a larger mining operation.

High-voltage grid power at the miner
Conveyors and a route to storage or processing
Use the map or scanner to identify a hexagonal vein marker and select a target.
Check for a drill point at the target's underground elevation, then plan a safe descent to that level.
Excavate a working approach and clear the rock directly in front of the drill point.
Place the vein miner facing the cleared point, adjusting its orientation until the placement indicator accepts it.
Connect the miner to the high-voltage grid required for operation.
Attach a conveyor and route output first to a buffer where deliveries are easy to inspect.
Extend the line toward a freight elevator, surface route, or processing area once extraction and transport both work.
Farming tips
Plan the power and haul route while choosing the excavation approach; both are part of a usable vein site.
Start with one miner and a buffer so placement or output problems stay easy to isolate.
Repeat, collect and use
A powered vein miner repeatedly extracts while the site, power, and output route remain available. Check the buffer and line whenever deliveries stop.
Common mistakes
Placing at the wrong elevation or against uncleared rock prevents a valid connection; expose the specific drill point first.
Facing the miner incorrectly can invalidate placement; rotate it until the preview confirms a valid orientation.
Using ordinary low-voltage connections or omitting the conveyor leaves the operation incomplete; provide the required high-voltage supply and output route.
When to stop or switch
Stop expanding the site when the output buffer meets your processing demand or when power and transport are already limiting delivery. Improve that bottleneck before adding miners.
