WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Copper Ore

Exposed copper-bearing terrain and underground copper deposits uncovered by excavation. Scanner and map readings can help locate targets.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Find an exposed copper patch and mine a manageable starter quantity.
  2. Place the ore in a labeled copper container rather than mixing it with other mined material.
  3. Process a small batch and confirm the ingot output before setting up a larger feed.
  4. Use the scanner or map to choose an underground target when hand-mined stock is not enough.
  5. Excavate a safe approach and clear the face where the copper deposit can be accessed.
  6. Check the miner preview, connect power, and send its output to a copper buffer.
  7. After the buffer receives ore consistently, route it onward to processing and then to copper consumers.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat hand mining where exposed copper remains, or let the powered miner refill its buffer. Revisit the route if the conveyor or smelting output stalls.

Common mistakes

  • Mixing copper with iron on an unplanned belt can make sorting and stock checks difficult; dedicate a line or buffer.
  • Building a long belt before confirming the miner outlet direction wastes layout effort; test the first segment into storage.
  • Assuming a large ore feed will process without checking output can back up the line; validate a small batch first.

When to stop or switch

Pause copper expansion once the buffer covers current machine and research requests. Expand again when actual consumption begins to outpace replenishment.
