Before you go
- Access to the exposed water source
- Relevant pump and pipe equipment unlocked in the current build
- A fluid consumer or temporary destination to check delivery
- Space to maintain pump and pipe access
Farming steps
- Identify a production need that calls for a fluid supply before selecting a water source.
- Excavate a limited section to reveal the water boundary and inspect the working space.
- Keep the excavation away from foundations until you understand where the water line must run.
- Place the available pump at the source and check its placement or connection indicator.
- Connect pipes toward the intended consumer, keeping the route visible while assembling it.
- Activate the line and check whether the consumer receives fluid before extending the build.
- Secure or cover the route only after pump access and pipe connections remain serviceable.
- Keep pump access clear so you can inspect or adjust the source connection later.
- Test a short route before building a long pipe run through crowded factory space.
Repeat, collect and use
Water delivery can continue as long as the source, pump, pipe connections, and consumer are available. Inspect the line again after changing nearby excavation or layout.
Common mistakes
- Burying pipes before confirming delivery makes connection faults harder to find; test while the route is exposed.
- Excavating beside foundations without a planned containment route risks disruptive water access; open a controlled section first.
- Assuming a pump or recipe is available without checking unlocks can stall setup; use the equipment and consumer indicators in the current build.
When to stop or switch
Stop extending the water network once the intended consumer receives enough supply for its current role. Expand only when another actual fluid demand appears.
