Trade Aether Crystals for Ascendant experience
The outer circles of the Ascension Altar at Kurn, in Asterkarn. The altar’s mechanics can be enabled outside Ascendant Mode; Ascendant Mode requires Fangs of Asterkarn and a level 100 character on Ultimate.
Before you go
- Reach Kurn and interact with the Ascension Altar.
- Have Aether Crystals available for the experience offering.
- Choose campaign areas with enough enemies to provide experience and a difficulty your character can manage.
Farming steps
- Collect Aether Crystals from normal play and reserve the amount you are willing to spend.
- At Kurn, inspect the outer altar circles for the experience modifier tied to Aether Crystals.
- Offer the material and check the enemy-strength increase before leaving the settlement.
- Choose a campaign area where you can clear enemies steadily without frequent deaths.
- Fight through the area, collecting experience and loot as you progress.
- Move to another suitable area or continue your normal campaign route while the effect is active.
- Return to the altar when you want to change the modifier or end the leveling push.
- Pair the effect with a route you already clear well; extra enemy strength can erase the gain if it slows you substantially.
- You can use altar mechanics without toggling Ascendant Mode, so select the mode that fits your character and expansion access.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat by supplying more Aether Crystals at the altar. The experience comes from combat and quest activity; the offering does not grant a fixed experience payout.
Common mistakes
- Treating the offering as a direct level grant: earn experience by fighting and completing content while it is active.
- Using it in an area that is already difficult: move to a safer campaign zone if kills or survival become unreliable.
- Assuming Ascendant Mode is required for all altar effects: the altar can enable mechanics on other difficulties.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the character reaches the intended level or when stronger enemies make clears slower and riskier; remove the offering or resume ordinary play.
