Buy faction Writs and Mandates
The relevant faction quartermaster in a friendly hub. Check the faction’s reputation tier and vendor inventory.
Before you go
- Reach Honored with the faction to buy its Writ, or Revered for its Mandate.
- Have sufficient Iron Bits for the purchase.
- Shared stash access if transferring a Mandate to another character.
Farming steps
- Open the Faction Window and identify which faction’s reputation you want to accelerate.
- Complete that faction’s quests, kill its enemies if it is hostile, or take its available bounties.
- When the faction reaches Honored, visit its quartermaster and buy the Writ if useful.
- Continue reputation gains until Revered, then return for the Mandate.
- Use a Writ on the purchasing character; place a Mandate in the shared stash to transfer it if desired.
- On the target character, retrieve and use the Mandate before earning more reputation.
- Continue normal faction activities with the bonus active and buy further consumables when available.
- A Writ helps one character; a Mandate is the transferable choice for preparing alts.
- Faction reputation also unlocks quests, gear, augments, blueprints, and services, so choose the target faction based on what you need.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable as a vendor purchase when you meet the faction tier and have Iron Bits. Each consumable is used once; the reputation already earned is not farmed again.
Common mistakes
- Looking for a random Writ drop: buy it from the faction quartermaster after reaching Honored.
- Trying to transfer a Writ: only Mandates can be shared through the shared stash.
- Buying before checking the tier: earn Honored for a Writ or Revered for a Mandate first.
When to stop or switch
Stop purchasing once the target character has the desired reputation tier or enough bonus to finish the next unlock; spend further Iron Bits elsewhere if reputation is no longer the bottleneck.
