Find one-shot chests for guaranteed Epics
Remote corners of Cairn, hidden side dungeons, and secluded lairs. Explore side paths and secret areas rather than relying on one fixed route.
Before you go
- Access to the campaign regions and side dungeons where you plan to search.
- Dynamite or other required exploration materials when a route is blocked by rubble.
- A character prepared to clear the dangerous enemies guarding remote areas.
Farming steps
- Select an unexplored campaign region and review the local map for side paths and dungeon entrances.
- Search optional areas and secluded lairs rather than staying only on the main road.
- Use collected materials such as dynamite to clear blocked access when needed.
- Explore hidden rooms and remote corners, defeating guards before opening suspicious treasure stashes.
- Open discovered one-shot chests and collect the guaranteed Epic item.
- Compare the item with your current setup and keep or store it if useful.
- Continue through new areas while seeking unopened chests, then switch to repeatable loot activities once the character’s chests are exhausted.
- Breakable walls and optional side routes can reveal hidden rooms, but bring enough supplies for obstacles you intend to clear.
- Use the loot filter and inspect Epic items so useful drops are not overlooked among ordinary gear.
Repeat, collect and use
Limited to once per chest per character. A new character can find its own one-time chest rewards, but reopening an already claimed chest does not farm another Epic.
Common mistakes
- Expecting the chest to respawn: mark it as claimed and move to unexplored areas.
- Skipping side dungeons: many one-shot chests are tucked into remote or optional locations.
- Assuming the Epic is build-specific: the guaranteed quality does not guarantee a useful item for your character.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the chest has been opened and its item collected; switch to a repeatable source such as bosses, totems, or Shattered Realm for further gear.
