- No special tool for picking visible small mushrooms.
- Inventory room for a small travel supply.
- A Ranger Outpost analyser if you want to check crafting uses.
Farming steps
- Look along the ground near the first outpost and on paths you already plan to travel.
- Pick visible small mushrooms as you pass them.
- Eat a few when hunger needs a quick top-up, or roast them if a spit is available and you prefer cooked food.
- Keep some unconsumed if you are preparing to unlock mushroom processing or need samples for research.
- At a Ranger Outpost, analyze an unfamiliar mushroom resource before committing all of it to food.
- Use cooked bug meat as the main meal supply when mushrooms alone do not cover hunger.
- Gather during travel instead of making a long search detour.
- Carry mushrooms as a backup, not your only food plan for a longer expedition.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the pickup on ordinary park routes whenever mushrooms are visible. Availability depends on what is present in the world; this is not a guaranteed harvest.
Common mistakes
- Expecting a few mushrooms to fully cover hunger; supplement with cooked food.
- Eating every mushroom before learning its crafting role; retain a sample for analysis or processing.
- Leaving a route to search extensively for a basic snack; collect opportunistically.
When to stop or switch
