Before you go
- Roasting spit for cooking meat.
- Weapon and healing for hunting bugs.
- Inventory space to carry raw meat back.
Farming steps
- Check your hunger and choose the amount of food you need before leaving camp.
- Start with an Aphid or Weevil near the Snackbar paths if you want a lower-risk hunt.
- Engage an Orb Weaver only if your current gear and health make that fight reasonable.
- Collect raw insect meat from a successful hunt and return to your base.
- Place the meat on the roasting spit and cook it before eating.
- Eat cooked portions as needed and avoid carrying more fresh food than you can use before it spoils.
- Small bugs are a safer early target than spiders; take the harder fight only when prepared.
- Cook close to when you plan to eat so the finished food does not sit unused.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the short hunt and roasting loop when food is needed and nearby prey is available. Meat quantity depends on successful hunts; no kill or yield is guaranteed.
Common mistakes
- Hunting a spider without suitable gear; choose Aphids or Weevils until ready.
- Eating raw meat instead of cooking it; use the roasting spit first.
- Taking more food than you can use before it spoils; make smaller trips.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your hunger is covered for the next outing or when your supplies are low enough that another fight would be unsafe.
