Before you go
- Omni-Hammer function on the Omni-Tool.
- A Ranger Outpost analyser for researching a first part.
- Inventory space for mixed acorn materials.
Farming steps
- Travel to the Entrance Area and search the ground beneath oak trees for fallen acorns.
- Check that the Omni-Tool is set to its hammer function before approaching an acorn.
- Break the acorn with the Omni-Hammer and collect the pieces it leaves behind.
- Sort the haul into shells, tops, and other acorn parts rather than assuming each piece has the same use.
- Bring a first example of an unfamiliar part to a Ranger Outpost analyser.
- Use the newly revealed crafting information to decide which parts to store for current recipes.
- The Entrance Area is a recorded acorn source; use nearby oak trees as your search cue.
- Keep the hammer function ready so an acorn find does not turn into a return trip.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the search and break any fallen acorns you find. The available quantity depends on what is present in the park; this is a collection loop, not a guaranteed fixed yield.
Common mistakes
- Trying to chop an acorn with the axe function; switch the Omni-Tool to its hammer function.
- Using every part before researching it; take an unfamiliar piece to an analyser first.
- Expecting shells and tops to be the only output; collect and sort the other acorn pieces too.
When to stop or switch
Stop once you have enough of the parts required by your current recipes, or switch to another material if the nearby acorns are cleared.
