Nether — crimson forest or warped forest, matching the required stem.
Crimson and warped forests provide distinct stem types. Gather the one your project needs, then craft stems into the matching planks when appropriate. The harvested stems do not regrow, so a later batch means another trip or another forest area.

How to farm
Before you go
- Nether access and a safe route home.
- Axe recommended for harvesting stems.
- Inventory space for stems and processed materials.
- Check your project or recipe to decide whether it needs crimson or warped materials.
- Locate the matching forest in the Nether and approach it with a return route in mind.
- Cut stems and collect the dropped blocks, checking the area for missed items.
- Continue harvesting only the matching type until you have the project quantity.
- Craft the stems into their matching planks if the next recipe calls for planks.
- Carry the materials home and keep each stem or plank type identified in storage.
Farming tips
- Do not treat crimson and warped stems as the same project material; select the forest that matches the required item.
- Nether stems cannot be smelted into charcoal, so keep ordinary Overworld logs for charcoal production.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable only by gathering additional stems in the Nether; stems do not regrow after cutting.
Common mistakes
- Harvesting the wrong forest type: confirm the recipe name before leaving your base.
- Expecting stems to provide charcoal: use logs from Overworld trees instead.
- Processing all stems into planks too early: retain stems if the build calls for them intact.
When to stop or switch
Stop once the required amount is stored, then leave the forest rather than collecting unrelated materials.
