Before you go
- Nether exploration equipment and a plan for bastion enemies.
- A safe way to store the first template immediately.
- Seven diamonds and netherrack for duplication after the first template.
Farming steps
- Locate a bastion remnant and approach it with equipment suited to its hostile inhabitants.
- Explore the structure carefully and inspect its chests for a Netherite Upgrade template.
- Take the first template to safety and store a protected copy before using it.
- When you need more templates, craft the existing template with seven diamonds and netherrack to produce two templates.
- Keep at least one copy for future duplication before spending templates in smithing.
- Use a template at the smithing table only when you are ready to perform an upgrade.
- Repeat the duplication craft from a retained template as needed.
- Duplication requires an existing copy, so it cannot solve the first-template search.
- Smithing consumes the template; plan how many copies to make before upgrading several items.
Repeat, collect and use
The bastion search is limited by chest loot. Duplication is repeatable while you preserve a template and have the materials.
Common mistakes
- Using the first template immediately: store it and make copies first.
- Expecting duplication to create the first copy: find one in a bastion before crafting more.
- Spending every copy at a smithing table: retain a template for future duplication.
When to stop or switch
Stop exploring once a template is secured; duplicate enough for planned upgrades and preserve one for later.
