Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Locate a dripstone cave and descend carefully to the area around Y=47–48.
  2. Inspect exposed cave walls for copper ore and look around the vein before mining.
  3. Mine the ore with a suitable pickaxe and collect the raw copper.
  4. Check nearby granite-associated copper and any raw copper blocks that extend the deposit.
  5. Return to a furnace and smelt the raw copper with fuel to produce ingots.
  6. Use the ingots in the intended recipe or store them until the project is ready.
  7. Repeat the cave search if more copper is required.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable as a mining trip, but each batch comes from a finite ore deposit rather than regrowth.

Common mistakes

  • Mining with a tool too weak to harvest ore: use at least a stone pickaxe.
  • Leaving raw copper unprocessed when the recipe needs ingots: smelt it before crafting.
  • Assuming one visible block marks the end of a vein: inspect nearby connected blocks.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have enough ingots for the project; return later if the build requires another batch.
