Before you go
- Nether access and a safe return route.
- Pickaxe to harvest blackstone.
- Inventory space for blocks and basic supplies for Nether travel.
Farming steps
- Enter the Nether and locate a Basalt Deltas biome, moving carefully across its uneven terrain.
- Identify blackstone in the exposed terrain before mining so you do not collect a substitute block by mistake.
- Mine the blocks with a pickaxe and pick up the dropped blackstone.
- Check the recipe or build plan to confirm the required quantity and whether it calls for blackstone itself or another block.
- Continue across the deposit while keeping an eye on hazards and inventory space.
- Return to your base and store the collected blocks with the project materials.
- Bring extra inventory capacity if you are gathering for a large build; the useful output is the block itself.
- Keep the route back in mind when crossing hazardous terrain, rather than mining until your supplies run out.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable only by traveling to and mining additional deposits; mined blocks do not regrow.
Common mistakes
- Using a tool that cannot harvest the block: use a pickaxe.
- Collecting a visually similar block: verify the item name in your inventory before leaving.
- Overfilling your inventory: leave room for the target blocks or make a return trip.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your recipe or build has enough blackstone in storage, then leave the biome by your safe route.
