Craft decorations for build slots

Forged decorations convert monster materials into build skills and can fill available equipment slots. Hub equipment can use up to three decoration slots.

Where to farm

Smithy’s decoration forging menu, followed by the equipment decoration screen.

Use the Smithy’s decoration forging menu to identify the exact monster parts and other materials needed for a skill decoration. Hunt the listed monsters in the appropriate rank, collect their parts, and return to forge the decoration. Then slot it into a compatible open space on your weapon or armor. Decoration availability depends on progression and recipes, so begin by selecting the skill you want rather than farming at random.

How to farm

Before you go

  • A decoration recipe unlocked through quest progression.
  • Access to the listed monster hunts and their required rank.
  • Equipment with a compatible open decoration slot.
  1. Open the Smithy’s decoration menu and find the skill decoration you want.
  2. Inspect its recipe and list each required material and quantity.
  3. Choose the appropriate rank hunt for the monster materials shown.
  4. Complete the hunts and collect the required parts and other crafting inputs.
  5. Return to the Smithy and forge the decoration when the full recipe is available.
  6. Open equipment management and select a compatible weapon or armor slot.
  7. Confirm the skill change in the equipment screen and adjust the build if needed.

Farming tips

  • Hub quest equipment can have up to three decoration slots; inspect each piece to see what it accepts.
  • Pick decorations to address a build need before farming their ingredients.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat for each decoration you choose to forge. Recipes and material requirements vary, and forging a decoration is not a repeatable quest reward.

Common mistakes

  • Hunting the wrong rank for the recipe materials: check the menu’s material names and source rank.
  • Forging before checking slot compatibility: verify the equipment has a suitable open slot.
  • Assuming every piece has three slots: inspect the individual equipment before planning.

When to stop or switch

Stop farming a recipe when the decoration is forged and equipped, or switch to a different skill if your build has no compatible slot.
