WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Unlock Extra Slot II with Tempered Rajang in Volcanic Region 7
Guiding Lands, Volcanic Region level 7; lure or encounter Tempered Rajang and collect Tempered Glimmerpelt.
Before you go
- Complete Iceborne story and unlock the Guiding Lands.
- Raise Volcanic Region to level 7; have a Rajang lure or a spawn available.
- Own a weapon whose rarity supports Extra Slot II and confirm its recipe at the Smithy.
Farming steps
- Open the weapon augment menu and select Extra Slot II to confirm its current material list.
- Check Hunter’s Notes and the region level; Volcanic level 7 is the Tempered Rajang route.
- Lure Rajang or wait for it to appear, then confirm it is tempered.
- Fight Rajang and collect its dropped Guiding Lands material shinies.
- Complete the hunt and inspect rewards for Tempered Glimmerpelt.
- Repeat the same target if the recipe still lacks the material.
- Return to the Smithy and apply Extra Slot II once the displayed recipe is funded.
- A regular Rajang is not a substitute for the tempered target.
- The Smithy’s recipe is the final material checklist; recipes can differ by weapon rarity.
- Do not lower the Volcanic region before the target is spawned if you still need another Tempered Rajang.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Tempered Rajang hunts in Volcanic level 7 until the chosen weapon’s Extra Slot II recipe is complete.
Common mistakes
- Do not claim this material comes from Tempered Investigations; the route is Guiding Lands.
- Do not confuse Tempered Glimmerpelt with Bloodthirsty Glimmerpelt from regular Rajang.
- Do not farm once the chosen weapon’s augment is complete.
When to stop or switch
Stop when Extra Slot II is available on the intended weapon or the recipe names a different missing component.
