Open the Depths after completing the 108 Underworld floors
The Underworld floor menu, advancing through the available sequence to floor 108; check the menu for Depths access after the final clear.
Before you go
- Reach Dream of the Nioh and unlock the Underworld.
- Have a build that can survive the next available floor and defeat its Crucible boss.
- Be prepared to explore each Netherscape before taking a portal into its Crucible.
Farming steps
- Open the Underworld and select the next available floor.
- Enter the Netherscape and inspect the route, enemies, and Shrine before choosing how much to explore.
- Collect Jizo Kodama when it is safe; at least one opens a portal to the Crucible.
- Finish any exploration you want before entering the Crucible, since you cannot return to the Netherscape afterward.
- Use a portal to enter the Crucible and defeat its boss to complete the floor.
- Return to the Underworld staging area and select the next available floor.
- Repeat the exploration and boss-clear loop through floor 108, then check the Underworld menu for Depths access.
- The floor’s Jizo Kodama can provide benefits for the run; weigh the added support against the risk of exploring side paths.
- If a floor becomes too punishing, improve your gear or build before continuing rather than rushing into the next boss.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a finite progression sequence: clear each newly available floor once to advance. Replaying a completed floor does not move the unlock forward.
Common mistakes
- Entering the Crucible before finishing desired exploration; the Netherscape cannot be revisited from there.
- Treating the Depths as another name for the Underworld; it becomes a separate activity after the 108-floor sequence.
- Leaving before defeating the Crucible boss, which is required to advance.
When to stop or switch
Stop after clearing floor 108 and confirming that the Depths option is available in the Underworld menu.
