WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Use lowest eligible difficulty for Smithing Texts
The named boss encounter listed for the Smithing Text you want, on a difficulty eligible for that text.
Before you go
- Unlock the mission containing the target’s named boss.
- Check the Forge to confirm the recipe is still missing.
- Equip available Item Drop Rate effects and Hunter Kodama blessing, if unlocked.
Farming steps
- At the Blacksmith, open Forge and identify the missing weapon or armor recipe.
- Find that item’s Smithing Text entry and note the named boss and mission.
- Check the entry for the eligible source difficulty; do not assume every difficulty can drop the text.
- Set Item Drop Rate effects and Hunter Kodama blessing if available.
- Choose the lowest eligible difficulty your build can clear consistently.
- Replay the mission, take its shortest route to the named boss, defeat it, and check the rewards and drops for the text.
- If the recipe remains missing, return to the mission menu and repeat the same eligible route; after obtaining the text, verify the recipe at the Forge.
- The lower-difficulty choice is for manageable, repeatable clears; it is not evidence of a higher drop chance.
- Prioritize Item Drop Rate for Smithing Texts rather than Equipment Drop Rate.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the named boss route while the recipe is missing. The text is a permanent, one-time recipe unlock, so stop farming after it appears in Forge.
Common mistakes
- Assuming any difficulty works: confirm the target entry’s eligible source before choosing a mission setting.
- Moving to a harder difficulty for better general loot: stay with the easiest eligible version you can clear consistently.
- Continuing after the unlock: check Forge after a text appears and switch to another goal once the recipe is available.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the Forge confirms the recipe is unlocked. If the eligible difficulty is unclear, use the named source details available in-game and avoid treating other difficulties as confirmed sources.
