WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Ferrite Dust

Rock formations and ferrite-rich terrain on planetary surfaces.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Land somewhere safe with visible rock formations and open your Analysis Visor.
  2. Scan nearby rocks and check their resource labels before mining.
  3. Use the Mining Beam on the labeled rocks, moving between targets as the stack grows.
  4. Check your inventory before leaving and transfer or retain the dust where you can reach it.
  5. When a recipe calls for Pure Ferrite, place Ferrite Dust in a Portable Refiner and collect the refined output.
  6. Use the gathered material for the current repair or construction task, keeping a practical reserve for later.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat whenever you pass through a rocky area. This is an ongoing, renewable surface harvest; collect more whenever crafting or repairs use up your reserve.

Common mistakes

  • Mining without checking the label can yield a different mineral; scan first and target Ferrite Dust.
  • Refining the whole stack can leave too little raw dust for a build; refine only what the recipe needs.
  • Leaving the stack in an inaccessible inventory can interrupt crafting; keep the working amount with you.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have enough for the repair or build in front of you plus a small travel reserve; resume collecting when that reserve runs low.
