WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Natural Crop Seed Surplus

Housing Plot garden, while harvesting mature crop tiles.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Choose the crop varieties you want to keep in rotation and note how many seeds you currently have.
  2. Let those crops mature in the garden; keep their tiles in the layout you intend to harvest.
  3. Harvest mature crops and check the resulting inventory for any seeds received.
  4. Sort seed drops by crop type and move the varieties you want to preserve into a dedicated seed reserve.
  5. Set aside enough seeds for your planned replanting before selling or processing produce.
  6. Use surplus produce for cooking, requests, or a processor according to your current needs.
  7. Plant from the reserve for the next cycle, then replenish it from later mature harvests when seed drops occur.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat at each mature harvest while maintaining the garden. Seed drops are chance-based, so this is an ongoing replenishment method, not a guaranteed seed supply or a one-time farm.

Common mistakes

  • Planning a full replant around an assumed seed yield: keep enough backup seeds to cover a low-drop harvest.
  • Processing or selling all produce before sorting: check for seed drops and reserve planting stock first.
  • Mixing varieties in storage: label or separate seed types so the next planting uses the intended crop.

When to stop or switch

Stop reserving seeds once you have the planned amount for the next planting; use extra produce for its best current purpose, and resume the reserve loop if stock falls.
