Runic Splinters and Olroth
Expedition rewards in Atlas maps; activate Logbooks through Dannig and spend Runic Splinters at the Realmgate.
Before you go
- Reach Atlas mapping and access Expedition encounters.
- Be able to manage remnant modifiers and excavated fights.
- Have a Logbook if you want to run the separate large Expedition activity.
- Prepare for a pinnacle boss before spending Runic Splinters.
Farming steps
- Open a map with Expedition and survey its markers and remnants.
- Read remnant effects and avoid modifiers that make the encounter unsafe.
- Place explosives through useful reward and monster markers, then defeat excavated enemies.
- Collect Runic Splinters, artifacts, and any Logbooks that drop.
- Take a Logbook to Dannig in your hideout to open its dedicated Expedition area.
- Run the Logbook for its own rewards; do not expect Olroth to appear there.
- Inspect Olroth’s Realmgate options and spend the displayed amount for a tier you can face.
- Keep Logbooks and Runic Splinters distinct: the former opens a large Expedition, while the latter is the recorded boss access route.
- Check Realmgate tier costs before spending; available options can differ.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Expedition maps and Logbooks for their separate rewards. A Logbook does not guarantee an Olroth encounter; each boss attempt requires its listed Splinter cost.
Common mistakes
- Searching a Logbook for Olroth; use the Realmgate’s Splinter route for the boss.
- Confusing Logbooks with Runic Splinters; they have separate uses.
- Taking remnant modifiers without checking them; skip effects that counter your build.
When to stop or switch
Stop boss-material farming when you have the entry cost for a tier you can attempt. Run Logbooks for their own rewards, not as a guaranteed boss route.
