Upgrade a primary weapon with Iron
Rigs’ upgrade bench in Ward 13.
Before you go
- Have a primary weapon to upgrade.
- Collect the Iron tier shown in the weapon’s next upgrade cost.
- Carry the required Scrap.
Farming steps
- Return to Ward 13 after gathering materials in a Campaign or Adventure area.
- Speak with Rigs and open the weapon upgrade menu.
- Select the primary weapon you use most often.
- Read the displayed Iron tier and Scrap cost for its next upgrade.
- If short, return to exploration and collect relevant drops or chests.
- Revisit Rigs and upgrade when the full cost is available.
- Check the next level’s cost before deciding whether to continue upgrading or save materials for armor.
- Keep armor and weapon levels reasonably aligned with the world’s scaling.
- Upgrade the weapons you actually use before spreading Iron across unused gear.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a repeatable materials-to-upgrade loop: gather the required Iron and Scrap, return to Rigs, and repeat while the next level is useful and affordable.
Common mistakes
- Using the wrong Iron tier: read the current cost at Rigs and collect the grade it specifies.
- Spending all Scrap on upgrades without checking other needs: compare costs before committing.
- Upgrading several weapons at once: prioritize a regular-use weapon so each purchase has clear value.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the weapon is strong enough for your current progression or the next upgrade would divert materials from a more useful piece of gear.
