Upgrade equipment with boss and elite materials
Ward 13: Rigs for equipment upgrades, McCabe for boss-material crafts, and Dwell for Mutator upgrades.
Before you go
- Collect the materials listed for the upgrade or recipe you want.
- Choose the equipment or Mutator you plan to keep using.
- Have the required Scrap and other listed costs available.
Farming steps
- At Ward 13, choose the weapon or Mutator you want to improve.
- Speak with Rigs and inspect the displayed cost for the equipment upgrade.
- Use regular Lumenite and other common resources only when Rigs’s selected upgrade lists them.
- Take a named boss material to McCabe and compare the available craft before using it.
- Take Corrupted Lumenite to Dwell to upgrade an eligible Mutator.
- For a corrupted weapon variant, check Dwell’s recipe and bring Corrupted Shards; Corrupted Lumenite does not replace them.
- Pay the listed costs, then verify the upgrade or crafted item in your inventory.
- Check McCabe’s available crafts before using a unique boss material; the boss encounter’s kill condition can affect which material you receive.

Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the vendor check and processing loop as you collect more materials. Common resources can be gathered again; named boss materials depend on their specific encounter outcome, and Corrupted Lumenite comes from Aberrations.

- Taking every material to one vendor: follow the recipe and use Rigs, McCabe, or Dwell as appropriate.
- Confusing Corrupted Lumenite with Corrupted Shards: inspect the recipe and bring the exact material it names.
- Spending a boss drop before choosing a craft: check McCabe’s options and confirm the intended result first.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your selected equipment and Mutators have the improvements you need; keep rare materials unspent until you have checked which recipe uses them.
