Village farms

Field Layout

Arrange crop beds so watering, harvesting and villager work are easy to manage.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

The editable development area around each village farm plot.

A clear field plan reduces missed tiles and makes it easier to keep crops for different goals separate. Grouping crops by season or purpose also helps you water and harvest efficiently with area tools. Leave enough room to reach the beds and let assigned villagers work in the farm area.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to village building or placement mode.
  • An open farm grid and the crops you plan to grow.
  • Room for tool sweeps and villager access.
  1. Decide which crops belong in the village based on its season and your current goal.
  2. Group crops with the same purpose, such as a request batch or a regular sale patch.
  3. Keep rows or blocks compact enough for the Sacred Umbrella and Fan to reach them during field rounds.
  4. Leave walking space around beds so you can inspect tiles and work around villagers.
  5. Place buildings and decorations at the field edge when possible, rather than occupying planting space.
  6. Reserve a small separate row for request or giant-crop attempts so routine harvesting does not mix with them.
  7. Recheck the layout after assigning farm workers and adjust task settings if they disrupt the plan.

Farming tips

  • A small, accessible patch that gets watered is more useful than a crowded field with missed tiles.
  • Keep storage and buildings arranged around your goal, but do not block crop access.

Repeat, collect and use

Layout adjustments are repeatable whenever your crop plan changes. There is no one-time crop reward tied to a particular arrangement.

Common mistakes

  • Mixing request crops with bulk sale crops: use a separate row or mark the intended patch mentally.
  • Packing every tile without access: leave room to inspect and use tools.
  • Ignoring worker behavior: review sowing, watering and harvesting settings after assigning villagers.

When to stop or switch

Stop rearranging once you can reach each active crop, keep special stock distinct and maintain the field comfortably.
