Before you go
- Equipment Workshop
- 2 Iron Plates and 4 Iron Rods per Portable Miner
- Accessible resource node matching the desired resource
Farming steps
- Bring 2 Iron Plates and 4 Iron Rods to the Equipment Workshop.
- Select the Portable Miner recipe and craft one unit.
- Locate a resource node for the material you want to gather.
- Carry the miner to the node and place it directly on the node.
- Let it collect resource into its limited storage.
- Return and collect the stored output; repeat visits as needed.
- The Portable Miner is made manually in the Equipment Workshop, not in a Constructor.
- Match the node's resource to your current need before placing the miner.
- Its limited storage means you must collect output yourself.
Repeat, collect and use
Visit the miner to collect output while you need the resource; craft another for another suitable node if you need more collection points.
Common mistakes
- Expecting the miner to deliver continuously to a factory despite its limited storage.
- Placing it on a node that supplies a different resource than the one you need.
When to stop or switch
Stop making collection trips when you have enough stock, or use a different mining setup if you need continuous factory delivery.
