Wood is collected from trees and woody vegetation and is primarily used as fuel for Biomass Burners and vehicles.
WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Wood acquisition
Find accessible trees or woody vegetation in the world and collect wood by hand where possible. Use a fueled Chainsaw on eligible trees when available. Harvested vegetation is depleted rather than forming a timed repeat-harvest route, so move to other available vegetation when a spot is exhausted.

- Accessible trees or woody vegetation.
- For eligible trees, a fueled Chainsaw if using that collection method.
Farming steps
- Locate accessible trees or woody vegetation around your current work area.
- Collect wood by hand where the vegetation permits it.
- Fuel a Chainsaw and use it on eligible trees to gather wood.
- Move collected wood to a Biomass Burner, vehicle, or storage as needed.
- For Biomass, use an unlocked Constructor with the Biomass (Wood) recipe.
- Treat Charcoal as an optional alternate recipe unlock, not a default starting option.
- Prioritize nearby accessible vegetation for short-term fuel needs.
- Do not plan on returning to depleted vegetation as a timed harvest loop.
Repeat, collect and use
Gather from other available vegetation when more wood is needed; individual depleted spots do not replenish on a route.
Common mistakes
- Expecting a resource map node or Miner to provide Wood.
- Assuming harvested vegetation will respawn on a dependable timed cycle.
When to stop or switch
Stop gathering when the fuel or Biomass stock you need is available, or nearby accessible vegetation is depleted.
