Before you go
- Refinery configured for Petroleum Coke
- 4 m³ Heavy Oil Residue per batch
- Output storage or a downstream consumer
Farming steps
- Set up a Heavy Oil Residue supply and connect it to the Refinery input.
- Select the Petroleum Coke recipe in the Refinery.
- Check that residue can reach the machine and that the solid output has room.
- Run the Refinery; each batch uses 4 m³ of residue.
- Collect or route the 12 Petroleum Coke produced per batch.
- Send the Coke to a Coal replacement use or an unlocked alternate recipe that needs it.
- At 100% clock, the recipe consumes 40 m³ Heavy Oil Residue and produces 120 Petroleum Coke per minute.
- Coke is used in alternate recipes including Electrode Circuit Board, Coke Steel Ingot, and Petroleum Diamonds; each alternate recipe must be unlocked.
- Keep the solid output from backing up so the Refinery can continue running.

Continue production while residue supply, output capacity, and downstream demand support it.

- Searching for a Petroleum Coke resource node instead of refining Heavy Oil Residue.
- Depending on an alternate recipe before unlocking it.
When to stop or switch
Stop or throttle the Refinery when Heavy Oil Residue runs short, output storage fills, or downstream demand is met.
