Uranium Waste is the highly radioactive byproduct that leaves a Nuclear Power Plant as Uranium Fuel Rods are consumed.

Uranium Waste acquisition
Collect Uranium Waste at the output of a Nuclear Power Plant consuming Uranium Fuel Rods. Route it directly into a supported process, such as the unlocked Blender recipe for Non-Fissile Uranium or the Particle Accelerator recipe for Plutonium Pellet. Check recipes and building unlocks before designing the line; do not assume a recipe that is not unlocked.
Before you go
- Nuclear Power Plant consuming Uranium Fuel Rods to generate this byproduct.
- A safe, powered route away from the plant output.
- Unlocked processing recipe and suitable machine, or other supported disposal capacity.
Farming steps
- Set up waste removal before starting fuel consumption.
- Connect the Nuclear Power Plant waste output to a dedicated transport route.
- Keep radioactive storage and transport away from routine work areas where practical.
- Feed waste to an unlocked Blender running Non-Fissile Uranium or a Particle Accelerator running Plutonium Pellet.
- For Non-Fissile Uranium, also plan for the recipe’s Water coproduct and its output capacity.
- Monitor storage and processing so incoming waste does not exceed handling capacity.
- Uranium Waste is created by fuel consumption, not by rod manufacture.
- Non-Fissile Uranium processing produces Water as a separate coproduct.
Repeat, collect and use
Maintain continuous removal and recycling only while the receiving machines and coproduct handling have capacity.
Common mistakes
- Expecting waste to appear before rods are consumed in a Nuclear Power Plant.
- Starting or expanding nuclear generation without enough waste removal and supported recycling capacity.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding fuel or reduce plant operation if the waste route is blocked, storage is filling, or processing cannot accept more.
