Where to farm
Craft at the Conservatory Fabricator, downstairs by the Plort Market board; use the upgrade at resource nodes across Rainbow Island.
Craft and install the Resource Harvester before planning trips around science materials. Ordinary pickups and resource nodes are different: this Vacpack upgrade enables collection from nodes such as Deep Brine, Radiant Ore, Wild Honey, and Lava Dust. Gather a material where it appears, then deposit it in the Conservatory Refinery so Fabricator recipes can use it.
Access to the Conservatory Fabricator and Refinery.
The plorts, resources, and other inputs shown by the Resource Harvester recipe.
An installed Resource Harvester Vacpack upgrade.
Open the Fabricator and check the Resource Harvester recipe and its required inputs.
Collect the listed plorts and materials, routing crafting inputs into the Refinery.
Craft the Resource Harvester at the Fabricator.
Equip the upgrade in the Vacpack before leaving the Conservatory.
Travel to a region with a needed science resource and locate its visible nodes.
Use the Vacpack on the nodes to gather the materials.
Return to the Refinery and deposit the resources for a planned recipe.

The upgrade is a one-time craft per save, while collecting resources from nodes is repeatable when you need more inputs.
Common mistakes
Searching for science materials before installing the upgrade; craft and equip the Harvester first.
Leaving resources in Vacpack storage; deposit them in the Refinery for Fabricator use.
Making a trip without checking recipe needs; identify the missing material before choosing a region.
When to stop or switch
Stop a resource run when you have the quantity needed for the selected recipe or your available Vacpack capacity is occupied; return to deposit before continuing.
